Today was pumpkin patch day, rain or shine. Spencer always points out that living in Seattle means getting out and doing things, no matter what Mother Nature brings to the table, and today was no exception.
This year we had plans to find the most amazing pumpkin patch, with a hay ride and petting zoo. Unfortunately, for the last few days they have been predicting the first storm of the season with heavy rain and strong winds, so we decided that all the bells and whistles weren’t necessary for Saylen’s first trip to pick pumpkins. We headed out after the morning football games, and happened upon a small farm about 20 minutes from our house. Within 5 minutes of arriving, the sky was falling and we were DRENCHED! We found our 3 pumpkins, and managed a few family photos, then it was back to the car, where within 5 minutes of leaving the sun was shining again!
Halloween costumes aren’t free (though I got Saylen’s for $10 at Costco), so I decided it would be great if he wore it more than just once!
Spencer helped Saylen find the perfect miniature pumpkin, just for him!
Asking a stranger to take a family picture is hard to come by in the pouring rain, so this will have to do…
Happy Halloween Everyone!!
So cute, Melyssa. LOVE the costume-he looks adorable...and I love the Chuck hat ;) I like Spencer's attitude about the weather and going out and doing stuff...it's a great way to think about it!! Are you gone for Thanksgiving? Or can we have a little lunch date sometime around then??
